ABOUT
I'm a visual artist (b.1989) currently living and working in Helsinki, Finland. My practice includes drawing and making collages, with ink, coal and pencil, chalk and watercolour. With my work, I study the human body and the natural world. I'm interested in psychology, people and humanity, spirituality, nature and the environment, and these are the sources of my inspiration.
I mostly work with lines, and my approach is quick and intuitive, often aiming to express a lot with just a few elements. I strive for a living, organic line, often human characters. With my characters, I try to reach for an aspect of being a human, the language of movement, an emotional state, or an experience. Often exaggerating the physical aspect or perspective and trying to find a new angle for my expression.
I hold a BA degree in Visual Culture and Arts with a focus on graphic design from the Lahti Institute of Design and Fine Arts. Currently I am studying environmental and natural resource economics at the University of Helsinki and the relationship between humans and the environment is a inspiring theme in my artistic work.
